Angel is attracted to Ford, but put off by his cold and brusque demeanor. Both of them have chosen their remote work site partly to distance themselves from their pasts. The book opens in Antarctica where Ford Cooper is working as a glaciologist and Angel Smith is a chef. Despite this book being the first full book in a series, readers may want to read the prequel novella in Turn the Tide to be fully introduced to the secondary characters. ![]() The tropes are 100% Elyse-bait and the author’s ability to sell me on two people falling in love during some really dire circumstances was impressive.
