![]() ![]() throughout the book), overall a satisfying read that I didn't feel a lingering icky feel like I do after reading some of the others out there *cough blood and bone series *cough*. It was suspenseful, a little more Wicca than needed ( it's pretty obv the author practices due to the main character listing off every single ingredient of her spells, and mansplains scratch that wiccasplains her beliefs along with other useless facts on mother goddess, different crystals and their uses, etc, etc., etc. I tend to lean more toward the cusp of more mature YA/Adultįrankly, due to writers' watered-down interpretation of how high school kids are really 5th graders who make up their own jargon nobody reading can relate to.ĭon't get me wrong, this book had all the above but turned those cringeworthy moments into satire-like tools to move the plot forward quickly enough to keep you hanging onto these characters' outcomes. I tend to get annoyed by these YA books, where the heroine runs straight to the killer while whining about how nobody believes her. I honestly don’t know what to make of this novel. ![]()
